Cliona Speech Pathology provides thorough, evidence-based assessments and therapy for children and adolescents (ages 5-21) experiencing language, social communication and related mental health challenges. Together, we’ll work to understand what’s getting in the way of connection and create practical strategies that feel safe, respectful and achievable.

Cliona specialises in assessing language and communication difficulties 

where there are neurodevelopmental and/or mental health challenges. You may be asking:

• Does your child have a language disorder?

• What is this young person’s communication strengths and weaknesses?

• What is your child’s social communication difficulties?

• Could this child’s skills match the pattern of autism and/or ADHD?

• How does this communication profile impact on mental health and vice versa?

• Why is your child struggling at school or making friends?

Cliona has over 15 years' experience as a speech pathologist including in infant and child mental health, disability, counselling, community health, and primary health in indigenous communities. Most recently she held the roles of senior speech pathologist and neurodevelopmental assessment co-ordinator at a child and adolescent mental health team with the Royal Children’s Hospital.

• To help families and care teams (eg paediatricians, schools) to better understand and support a young person’s ability to access health care, education or funding
